Understanding Happiness
Most people believe the only way to win in life is to play by the rules,
which is exactly what they do every day of their rut-ridden lives. They pride
themselves on getting ahead the hard way -- working themselves to the bone,
never expecting too much, and never thinking any serious personal dreams will
ever come true. Genuine happiness is something they'll probably spend their
lives chasing after with a butterfly net, because they never seem to feel that
happy. That content. That sure they haven't wasted an awful lot of time on sheer
trial and error, just trying to get it right.
You know something? They have wasted a lot of time, way too much time, just
guessing what the future might have to offer them. Meanwhile they could have
perceived the future by literally providing themselves with the opportunity to
improve that future before they've even lived it.
Sound incredible? I agree, it does. The idea of being able to accurately
"see" the future and to act on that knowledge in the present goes against
everything we've ever been taught about how to live a happier life. For
instance, are you aware that:
* Being happy hasn't got a thing to do with being lucky. Lucky people go to
Atlantic City. Happy people command their own circumstances and live within the
parameters of their own wishes and desires. They literally make happiness
happen.
* Every experience, like it or not, is a product of choice in one form or
another. If you find yourself profiting from being "in the right place at the
right time," it's because you put yourself there. You made the decisions that
led you precisely to that point in time. On the flip side, if you find yourself
suffering calamity after calamity, the chances are very good that you've become
the victim of your own faulty decision-making, or you are doing nothing,
literally allowing the choices of others to dominate your life.
* No matter how hard we might try to resist it, the fact is, life is nothing
but change. We are always changing, always becoming -- nothing ever remains the
same: not marriages, friendships, careers, lifestyles. Permanence is only an
illusion, something we have created for ourselves in order to feel a sense of
security and continuity within the framework of day-to-day living. But once you
harness and productively put to use the powerful energy that is Change, it can
be your own creative force for happiness, success, and yes, even survival.

*You should have found your 'one true love' by now. I hate to disappoint you
on with this one, but the fact is, life is a gigantic sea of opportunity, and
there are more potential "one true loves" out there for each and every one of us
than we are ever even aware of. The trouble is, until we have developed our
intuitive abilities and can see beyond the immediate, seldom can we recognize
more than one or two of them, and that's in an entire lifetime! Potential love
relationships escape us constantly when we have no awareness of what the future
holds. But learning how to manipulate the future to steer it toward true love
becomes easy, once you have the proper perception to do so.
*No matter what you do, life will never change. If you have fallen victim to
this ill-gotten prophesy that speaks of nothing but the acceptance of an
unfulfilled existence, take heart. So has three-quarters of the human race. Why
do you think there is so much despair and so little joy in the world? Why else
would so many surrender themselves to hopelessness and negativity? It isn't that
life never changes, it's that we forget that we hold the power to make it
change. With every morning that dawns, we are the best that mankind can be at
that precise moment. But with every morning, comes not the same dawn, but a new
one -- a new moment, a new beginning. What we make of it, how we choose to make
life better, is of course entirely up to us.
So what does all of this have to do with reading cards? Exactly everything.
